Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to what parents ask us most before the first lesson.
Can I enroll in piano lessons if I don't have a piano at home?
Yes, for younger beginners, it is possible to start learning with lessons focused on basic music theory and introductory skills. However, it is highly recommended to purchase or rent a piano or digital piano after a few lessons to ensure consistent practice.
Can beginners start with a digital piano?
Yes — a basic 88-key digital piano is a fine place to start, especially if budget, space, or uncertainty about long-term learning is a concern. Acoustic pianos do offer richer tone and better support finger-strength development, which is beneficial as playing progresses.
Can I just learn pop songs without studying classical music?
For complete beginners, jumping straight to pop songs is hard without a foundation. We work with students to understand their interests and set achievable goals — pop music included — while building the skills that make everything else possible.
Do parents need to be involved in their children's piano lessons?
Yes, ideally. Lesson time with a teacher is limited, so a musical environment at home and gentle encouragement from parents between lessons makes a real difference to how quickly a student progresses.
